Director Matt Watt from Hotmilkfilms.com has shared this awesome Short Film of an inline skater that finds himself trapped in a CCTV world but will he escape?
Filmed in DV using a Canon XM1 this short has your eyes fixed on the screen at all times. This excellently edited film, with it’s bespoke soundtrack written especially is a fine example yet again - that creativity, ideas and content is key to creating a memorable film.
ECTV #4 - Canon HV20 shoot in London.
ECTV #4 - HV20 in London - Southbank & Canary Wharf from Edit Crunch on Vimeo.
So on bank holiday Monday Sim Warren from the Edit Crunch travelled to London to give the Canon HV20 a proper shoot. An all day shoot, in TV mode using a variety of shutter speeds. Filmed with Canon HV20 stock lens only, and “basic” colour correction using Magic Bullet. Chopped together by Sim using FCP on a 24″ iMac.
Sim said “Working with HV20 was excellent for static focus shots, but unless you’re using a rigged focus wheel or DOF adapter, it’s difficult pulling focus with the HV20’s standard focus roller. The batteries held out very well, only needing 2 for the entire day. Whilst filming at Canary Wharf, I was apprached by security and they took my driving lisense for details, but after a few checks, they took me to being a Tourist or Student filming a college project and let me continue because of the size of the camera.”
From this video, I’m sure you’d agree, this is the perfect example of how highly professional films, can be made on a small budget. The budget being - Sim’s tube pass, lunch, glass of wine and sun burn. Not exactly going to break the bank!

ECTV Film #3 - Kersh Media - Promotional Film
Kersh Media are a Kent based Video Production company specialising in corporate films and web videos for businesses. Ex-BBC Producer Graham Majin founded the company 4 years ago, realising the huge potential video has to offer business’s of all sizes. I especially like the 3D cat jumping onto the box! The variety in professional voice overs is also a nice touch.
Thanks to Kersh Media for sharing this film.
